Gifts
Great Oak School is a non-profit organization that relies on our community’s financial gifts to help provide services like tuition assistance, teacher training programs, and some overall operational costs associated with a rich Waldorf curriculum. While you are always welcome to donate in any way that works for your family, below are the formal fundraising opportunities for you to explore.
Annual Giving Campaign – Fundraising Goal $25,000
Our Annual Giving Campaign kicks off in the Fall and ends in May; families may set up monthly recurring payments to help support this important Campaign. As little as $25 per enrolled child/per month helps us reach this goal! One-time gifts are appreciated as well, and no amount is too small.
Great Oak School Gala – Fundraising Goal $30,000
Each year we host a magical Gala, typically our largest fundraiser of the year. This is an amazing night out filled with delicious food, dancing & entertainment, live and silent auctions, and topped off with wonderful memories to last! So much fun to be had, all while supporting our amazing school. Live auction items tend to sell in a range of $750 to $5,000, and silent auction items sell from $25 to $2000. There is something for everyone, and every dollar donated is a true gift to the school. This event is open to our enrolled families, potential families, and the greater area community; we look forward to you joining us for this very special evening.
Future Campus Campaign – Fundraising Goal TBA
Great Oak School is in a very exciting stage of development. We own 10 acres of land just down the street from our current location and are fundraising to continue Phase I of the development of our New Campus. We would love for you to join us as we continue to grow! New Campus updates can be found on our website.
There are many ways to donate; monthly donations, one-time gifts, company matching, stock sharing, etc.
Additional Ways to Give
Great Oak Waldorf School is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, and all contributions are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.
Great Oak School Tax ID # is 27-0220873
Gifts of Stock, Bonds, and Securities
Some Great Oak donors have chosen to transfer shares to Great Oak School. Please consider joining them. Just call or email us to let us know or to ask any questions.
Giving appreciated securities is a popular alternative to a cash gift because it offers three-fold tax savings. 1) It provides the donor with an income tax deduction (equal to fair market value at the date of transfer), 2) It enables the donor to avoid capital gains tax legitimately, and 3) It provides the school with the full value of the shares (not the net after-tax value they would have had if they had been sold first).
In-Kind Donations
Great Oak School gratefully accepts in-kind donations of goods and services. Please contact us if you are interested in making an in-kind donation. There are many possibilities for in-kind donations, including items or services for which we currently pay. Like cash donations, in-kind donations of goods are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.
Volunteering Your Time and Expertise
Great Oak would be unrecognizable without the spirit of selfless volunteerism which permeates the whole school. We deeply value the time, energy, and skills of our talented parent, grandparent, alum and alum family volunteers. Your hard work makes so many things possible. Thank you!
Matching Gifts
Many employers match employee donations to non-profit organizations. This can multiply the value of your gift!
If your employer has a Matching Gifts Program, ask for a form from their human resource office. Then complete and return the form to your employer and let us know, so we can ensure your employer’s donation arrives safely.
Please ask if you have questions about matching gifts, contact outreach@greatoakschool.org
Thank you for supporting Great Oak Waldorf School. Thank you for making a difference in the lives of Great Oak children and their families.
