Great Oak School is built on love and respect for children, families, and community, along with a reverence for learning, artistry, and the natural world. Thanks to the strong support and generosity of parents, grandparents, friends, relatives, trustees, and community members, Great Oak School continues to blossom and bear fruit.
Each year tax-deductible gifts enable Great Oak School to support talented, dedicated teachers, provide tuition assistance, and support a rich Waldorf curriculum that develops well-rounded individuals ready to navigate the world confidently. By choosing to donate, you’re not only investing in a child’s education but also their personal growth and the overall betterment of our community. Giving is like planting an oak tree today so that years from now, someone can enjoy its beauty and benefit from its shade.
The most common gifts include volunteering time and/or skills, donating materials, and participating in our annual fundraising campaigns linked below:
We are deeply grateful to our community, without whose generosity it would not be possible for us to provide an affordable, comprehensive Waldorf education to the children and the families in Harris County and Greater Houston areas.
Additional Ways to Donate
Great Oak Waldorf School is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, and all contributions are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.
Great Oak School Tax ID # is 27-0220873
Gifts of Stock, Bonds, and Securities
Some Great Oak donors have chosen to transfer shares to Great Oak School. Please consider joining them. Just call or email us to let us know or to ask any questions.
Giving appreciated securities is a popular alternative to a cash gift because it offers three-fold tax savings. 1) It provides the donor with an income tax deduction (equal to fair market value at the date of transfer), 2) It enables the donor to avoid capital gains tax legitimately, and 3) It provides the school with the full value of the shares (not the net after-tax value they would have had if they had been sold first).
Great Oak School gratefully accepts in-kind donations of goods and services. Please contact us if you are interested in making an in-kind donation. There are many possibilities for in-kind donations, including items or services for which we currently pay. Like cash donations, in-kind donations of goods are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.
Volunteering Your Time and Expertise
Great Oak would be unrecognizable without the spirit of selfless volunteerism which permeates the whole school. We deeply value the time, energy, and skills of our talented parent, grandparent, alum and alum family volunteers. Your hard work makes so many things possible. Thank you!
Many employers match employee donations to non-profit organizations. This can multiply the value of your gift!
If your employer has a Matching Gifts Program, ask for a form from their human resource office. Then complete and return the form to your employer and let us know, so we can ensure your employer’s donation arrives safely.
Please ask if you have questions about matching gifts, contact firstname.lastname@example.org
Thank you for supporting Great Oak Waldorf School. Thank you for making a difference in the lives of Great Oak children and their families.
